Abstract
The aim of this study was to develop an ethics-based model for managing media crises in cultural and sports organizations of municipalities. This qualitative research employed a thematic analysis approach. The statistical population of this study included sports management professors active in the research subject, media domain professors, public relations managers of cultural and sports organizations in selected municipal centers, managers of cultural and sports organizations of municipalities (with at least 5 years of management experience, in provincial centers, and holding a doctoral degree), and distinguished and elite employees of cultural and sports organizations of municipalities (with more than 10 years of experience, holding a master’s or doctoral degree, having sports backgrounds, and high scores in annual evaluations) selected through purposive sampling (18 participants). The research tool was an exploratory (semi-structured) interview. The validity of the tool was assessed and confirmed based on sample validity, expert opinion, and inter-rater agreement.To analyze the findings, the thematic analysis method proposed by Attride-Stirling (2001) and MaxQDA Pro software was used. The results of comprehensive thematic analysis and the creation of a thematic network, utilizing the opinions of the experts participating in the study and theoretical foundations, revealed that the three comprehensive themes of planning, organizing and coordination, and human resources, along with three organizing themes, are among the dimensions of ethics-based management of media crises in cultural and sports organizations of municipalities. Overall, this research emphasized the importance of ethics-based management and attention to human dimensions in managing media crises in cultural .
