Abstract:
The aim of this study was to present a model of professional sports development through digital media. The metacognitive framework used for this research is the data theory of the emergent approach. The participants of this research were media experts, sports experts and sports management university professors with research results in the field of media and sports. The purposeful sampling method and its strategy was snowball type and a total of 22 interviews were conducted. The data collection tool was a semi-structured interview. To check the validity and reliability of the results, the strategies of believability, transferability, verifiability, process audit study and intra-subject agreement of two coders were used. In order to analyze the data, three stages were done, i.e. open, selective and theoretical coding. The current results are that the role of digital media in the development of professional sports includes 50 concepts, 16 subcategories and 3 main categories, and the core category titled "Synergy of media and sports industry" is obtained from the conceptual connection between them. Therefore, the synergy of the media and the sports industry means the cooperation and solidarity between the sports industry and the media through which professional sports develop, influenced by the unique functions and features of digital media.

The present study aimed to explore the future of elite athletes' lifestyles considering the expansion of social networks. The methodology used in this research was scenario-based planning, designed and implemented in eight steps. Data collection was qualitative, employing interviews, expert panels, and the Delphi survey method. A total of 20 participants, selected through the snowball sampling method, comprised individuals with specialized knowledge or practical experience relevant to the subject. Additionally, the research utilized MICMAC and Scenario Wizard software for data analysis. The findings of the study were presented in two sections. The first section involved the identification and categorization of key components, drivers, and relevant uncertainties. Five main drivers were identified: commercial and financial opportunities, culture and social responsibility, interaction with media and professionals, development of digital skills, and participation in social and cultural processes. The interrelations and impacts of these factors were analyzed comprehensively. The second section focused on identifying and describing plausible and coherent scenarios based on the identified drivers and uncertainties. Four potential scenarios were developed, with "Complete Development" and "Social and Commercial Recession" emerging as the most significant. Proposed strategies for improving the lifestyle of elite athletes include enhancing commercial opportunities, promoting social responsibility, improving media relations, developing digital skills, and increasing social participation. These findings can guide sports administrators and policymakers in designing effective programs to enhance the lifestyle of elite athletes in the era of social network expansion.

The current study was designed and conducted to develop a communication model of mass media aimed at enhancing the moral literacy of professional Iranian football players. For practical purposes, the study employed a descriptive-survey research design with a mixed method approach to data collection. The qualitative segment of the research focused on experts and professors in sports management with relevant experience and knowledge, while the quantitative segment targeted all male football players in the premier leagues and the Azadegan League. The total population comprised 612 adult players from 16 professional league teams and 18 Azadegan League teams. Research tools included semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire consisting of 21 items with 2 main component variables in Likert scale format. Data analysis involved open, axial, and selective coding for the qualitative segment, and structural equation modeling for the quantitative segment. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 24 and Smart PLS version 2 software. The findings revealed that various forms of mass media influence the moral literacy of professional athletes. Based on the study results, it is recommended that mass media platforms incorporate the teaching of moral values and literacy directly and indirectly in their programs, especially for prominent professional football players and other members of society.

The specialized literacies in communication, which go beyond reading, writing, and simple conversation, play a significant role in human communication with oneself, others, and even other beings; the quality of good communication signifies greater success in personal and professional life. With this brief introduction, the question arises as to whether communicative literacy is a very important skill among professional athletes. The answer is likely positive; as professional sports are breaking down negative beliefs of past generations, such as eliminating racial discrimination. On the other hand, professional sports have brought together different tastes and interests, leading to expanded communications. Since communicative literacy in professional sports has been less studied, the aim of this study is to analyze specialized literacies in the communication of professional athletes in Iran, based on the technique of analyzing key players. This was done through a strategic planning simulation tool called "McCutcheon". In this critical paradigm study, professional athletes in the fields of football, wrestling, weightlifting, and handball were asked to complete actor-actor and actor-goal matrices, which in a way measured their level of communicative literacy. The results from the Makator software output indicated that professional athletes in selected fields have weaknesses in their specialized literacies in body language, intercultural communication, advertising literacy, organizational communication, international and emotional relations. Suggestions were made for better communication for professional athletes.
